Properties

There are many people who make their homes in one of the 180+ properties owned by the Ernest Cook Trust.

Across our estates, our residential tenants are part of the fabric of their local communities, while also contributing to our charitable work through the rental income these homes bring in.

The building blocks of thriving land

In our decades-long experience, we know that cultivating and maintaining thoughtful property management – with communities front of mind – can help people and land collectively thrive. That’s why we invest in our current properties, as well exploring new opportunities to thoughtfully and intentionally develop some of our landholdings.

Our homes and communities

Our properties, both new and existing, provide vital income to support our charitable work. But we are also mindful of our founder’s deep-rooted love for rural life and we want to ensure that our properties support rural communities and their economic resilience.

Existing developments

Our property developments respond to local need and opportunity – we don’t believe in carbon copies across our estates. What’s important is that they all showcase responsible land stewardship and development standards. Here are two examples of opposite scales and styles – showing how people, place and purpose can thrive together.

Upcoming developments

We know that property developments can cause concern or anxiety amongst local residents who want to understand the impact on their home. We are always willing to discuss upcoming developments and share what we know.
